Thread: Coolest Anime?

You're absolutely right. Anyone expecting the show to be JUST like the game is in for a shock. I've seen the first five episodes, and it's followed...closely to the game's storyline, although "closely" might be a bit strong.

Episode six I think they're finally introducing Maderas (or whatever his name would be in Japanese)!

How did it go from apparently "Jenesky" to "Hoggmeiser", Jenesky being in the anime and Hoggmeiser being in the game? Oh well, I like how he actually has a name in the anime instead of "Hoggmeiser", which still sums him up pretty well. And yay, Koganesky (Jenesky/Hoggmeiser's son) had a bigger role this time around!

You know, in the game I always wondered where Laharl put his sword when he used his special moves Blazing Knuckle and Overlord's Wrath. The anime explains how that works pretty well (his little cloak/cape/scarf thing pretty much absorbs the sword).

His cape/cloak/scarf can turn into wings! Wtf!? That's AWESOME!

Funimation released episodes 14-16 in July of 2005. I have the DvD. The fact that they didn't translate the credits or even put in a insert with the translated credits pisses me off but they did released domestically.

Naruto, Air Master, Tenjou Tenge, ec.

My favorite though at the moment is Dead Leaves. Action, gore, martial arts, nudity, weird characters, wacky drawings. What else could you ask for?

Like I said, they did release the first DVD of the first three episodes, which incidentally, I've seen fansubbed. But I've been dying to see the rest of the series, which I've only seen episode 19 raw, along with the OVA+ episode. I want to know what happens next!

I do happen to like Ranma 1/2 and Inu-Yasha, but my main complaint with most Takahashi series is that they tend to drag after they introduce the principal players in the anime/manga...

It's a pretty cool image, if I do say so myself. I'll leave it up, though this story may never be finished!

If you mean .hack//Fragment, don't hold your breath. It was announced at E3 that it wouldn't come outside of Japan. Don't bother importing either. The online service is planned to end as of this November in Japan. On the bright side, .hack//G.U. is definately on it's way and it'll be awesome...

I think Jenesky was the original name in Japan. And yeah, I loved seeing his son play a bigger role! How adorable!

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. And yes, Koganesky is adorable.

I can't wait for Laharl to show the Defenders of Earth who's boss once and for all. Yeah, they were a little annoying in the game, but it's been multiplied 10-fold in the show.

Although, it WAS pretty funny how Jennifer used her charms on that Jack-monster. "Apparently, men in the netherworld are just as simple-minded as men on Earth". Lol...

Well, Agent Aika will always be no.1 for me.

-Neon Genesis Evangelion has most impressive story.
-Najica Blitz Tactics (ala Aika=same director)

-Shamanic Princess with best quality and original art and magic effects as well.

Berserk is the coolest most super awesome anime ever, despite it's disturbingly mediocre animation. If only there was a second season showcasing Guts' misadventures after the whole Band of the Hawk ordeal.

Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoiyo Masaru-san is also quite good, even though its animation is even more low budget than Berserk's. It's got a ridiculous, nonsensical plot and bizarre characters with more quirks than you can imagine. Hananakajima is the king of...weird.
    Get thee hence...for great justice.

I'll never forget those old times with one of my best anime EVER and that's Bubblegum Crisis. Mega Tokyo, machinas, girls, lot's of japanese classic disco and rocks, breath-taking storyline and many many more good things about that serie......

That's a gorgeous Shamanic Princess pic. *saves* While I have to admit the animation and music were top-notch, the plot was sort of executed rather weakly...

I finally sat down and watched the entire animated GTO! I saw the live-action version first, which was quite different. It took a few episodes for it to catch onto me, but when it did...it was really a fun series, overall.

It's a pretty cool image, if I do say so myself. I'll leave it up, though this story may never be finished!
