Dam!!!Ya break my dream lol xDOriginally Posted by RUROUNI
Well I think it might not be too hard since character is already being developed it might be just some program might be need to remake(?)
Anyway,still...dreaming is not a bad thingy lol ^^
I love destroyed dreams, hahaha!! XD
Talking seriously, i want a version too, but if it comes to a console, they must add a lot of things since is a very simple game with no so much content. But knowing Capcom, maybe they re make it the same it is without nothing new...
Well...it's just come from the phone game in jp only so I guess they can just put the business out in psp/ds format of that game in other country,or open the business up kinda like online for other country to play<---just suggestion,or should be suggest in jp capcom lolOriginally Posted by RUROUNI
Or maybe the format transfer would be a trouble for psp or ds???![]()
ya might crush my dream again but Still I wanna make it sounds possible LOL xD
As I understand it, the phone game is actually based on the BREW platform (there are BREW 3.1 and BREW 4.0 phone versions of the game via Capcom), BREW itself is a multi-platform phone binary engine (similar to Java, but a *little* different as things are precompiled--think "Qualcomm's answer to Java").Originally Posted by sandywai
To run the program would require a BREW emulator of some sort--and as the protocol is proprietary this could be problematic but--much like Palm--Qualcomm does apparently provide developer's kits for at least BREW 3.1 including emulators. (Unfortunately, though, some considerable hacking may be required--BREW apps do require digital signing and require specially unlocked phones for development--not to mention you have to be an approved developer to do any BREW coding or have your apps run on BREW phones, and it is expensive to get a digital signature--which you must have first.)
In plainer English--the game is designed for a fairly specialised phone OS not yet in common use in North America (outside of Verizon Networks, because North American cell data infrastructure sucks compared to Europe or especially Asia) and in fact may never really see much use in North America, and is not likely to see release outside of the Asian market for this reason (there's a lot more BREW-capable phones in Japan and South Korea).
If you could ever get hold of the C++ code for the game, though, it's entirely possible it could be ported to other architectures (J2ME would be too small, but I could certainly see ports to Windows Mobile smartphones, maybe even Crackberries, and *definitely* to Nokia SymbianOS-based smartphones like the NGage--that is, if Capcom were really arsed to do such a thing).
What I would suggest--letter-writing to Capcom for a port to either Nintendo DS or *possibly* to SymbianOS or Blackberry.(I'd honestly aim for SymbianOS--better games support.)
some update of BOF IV on iphone -*-
http://www.capcom.co.jp/keitai/imode...f4_yousei.html
WOW, thanks for the updating. I just love the new arts![]()
As amazing as this sounds, the linked game in question would appear to be yet a <i>third</i> BOF IV-related phone game--this time, being essentially the minigame with the faeries being spun off into a dedicated phone game (just like the fishing minigame from BOF IV was spun off into the original BOF IV "side game" for BREW-enabled phones).
But I still didn't understand, Is the game finished and can be download or still in progress?
OK, I'll try to explain the situation re the BOF4-related phone games as best I can. :3Originally Posted by Nina Windia
Since 2005 or so, Capcom has been releasing games for the BREW platform phones (BREW is a "smartphone" development kit/OS that for various reasons is primarily used in phones sold for the Japanese market). These games have been either ports of minigames in (console) Capcom-produced games or complete games that are spinoffs of existing (console) Capcom games.
(Of note, this seems to be widespread re Japanese development companies and is by no means restricted to Capcom, Squeenix released a Japan-only FF7 "side story" game for BREW phones.)
Now where it becomes relevant (and puzzling): BOF IV has been a particularly frequent target of this--despite four other games in the series, one newer. (And no, the attention the game is getting in Japan thanks to the Comic Blade Avarus "graphic novelization" isn't entirely to thank.)
Released ports of minigames in BOF IV as dedicated BREW phone games include:
Fishing minigame (released for BREW in 2004-2005, apparently withdrawn from download in 2007ish)
Faerie minigame (help rebuild the village, etc.) (released 2009).
Of note, these are self contained games, you can't import tne results into the Playstation or Windows versions of BOF IV or vice versa).
In addition, a BOF IV "side story" (The Sword of Flame And The Magic Of Wind) was released in November 2007 (same time as when the Comic Blade Avarus serialisation of the BOF IV manga began). This is a full, five-dungeon "mini-RPG" and concerns events (after the gang left Wyndia) that are *not* included in the original game.
Now, *why* Capcom is doing this (both the phone minigames *and* manga) for a game that has been out of print for nearly half a decade--especially since Capcom has claimed that BOF as a series is on indefinite hold for new games--is anyone's guess. Trying to gauge support or build support for a re-release or remake is possible (BOF IV is the only pre-PS2 game that has never been re-released), another possibility is that Capcom is trying to drum interest up for a BOF IV anime (not unprecedented at all), but re-release seems most likely. Or maybe some obstinate bastards at Capcom wanna keep the flame alive (if so, gods bless those wonderful bastards).
I hope you are right about this, and if you do then Capcom deserves some credit on this. I just hope it will turn out true and we will see another "BOF" game soon.
On another note what kind of mobile you need for those games?
i hope the leaving in Spanish or English
An Anime of Bof would be great... but i see it far away...
Well, first of all it´s not only a "faeries minigame", it has history too. For what i understandand: this game is greatly called "Breath of Fire IV: Faeries Light Key", this takes place one month after "The Sword of Flame and the Magic of Wind" game, so it´s the sequel. Apparently, Nina and Ryu where going to the town, and in the way they found a Faerie crying, so she asks for help. After this, the Faerie ask Ryu and Nina close their eyes, then they go to the Dream´s World where the Faeries are, Ryu faints away with the shock of the arrival. When they arrive at the colony of the Faeries, it´s all destroyed and covered in darkness, it seems that a monster appeared and destroys the colony and the Key of Light of the Fearies (Key of Light... i´ve heard that somewhere :P). Now Ryu and the others must find the 10 Fairy Stones ornamented with the Key of Light and rebuild the colony in order to rescue the "world of Dream" from Darkness.
That´s the basic history, other character like Cray, Scias and Master appears too but i think it´s only helping in the rebuilding of the colony. The gameplay it´s something like Bof 5, Ryu is close combat and Nina long range. Ryu can Tranform into a Dragon. The Faeries have different attributes, like "Battle", "Recovering", "Hunting", "Felling" and "Mining". Fighting attacks an enemy in combat. Recovery heals HP in combat. Hunting to obtain food. Felling and Mining to obtain meterials to build.
In the colony, you can create a bar, a provision store, a blacksmith, etc. Porviding you with items, weapons, information, etc. The Faeries have stats (Power, intellect and technology) that are usable for various obstacules in the game, like giant Rocks, in this case, the rock have Stats too, and can be destroyed by the total sum of the stats of 3 faeries that you can choose.
It´s neccesary advance in the construction of the colony to find dungeons and advance in the history too, so it seems like it´s better than the Sword of flame and the magic of wind game. Capcom is making more money with BofIV than ever, i wish a Bof collection for ps3 or ps2!! Including these 2 games!.
So it's a game focused on the faerie colony? Awesome. I had always though that would make for an awesome stand-alone game if it were fully fleshed out. I hope Capcom decides to combine these phone games and release them on a console one day...preferably with a BoF IV rerelease or sequel...![]()
