Well, from what I hear, the French Horn is a little harder to play. It seems like they might have to blow harder or maybe have better control? I just remember that many of the French Horn players had trouble playing loudly, but the good ones could do it. I actually like the sound of the French Horn quite a bit.

I remember some people saying that you had to play clarinet before saxophone. I never did that. Clarinets have similar fingerings (at least for the lower octaves), but saxophone is quite easy to learn on its own. In fact, I think it's probably one of the easiest to learn. Maybe the size is what they were worried about?

    hmmm, perhaps.

I'm tired of my Calluses getting damaged. I finally managed to get my finger tips really rough and thick but then I got this huge blister under the tip of my ring finger. I had to pop it, now it hurts to play. So irritating.

Anyone else have to deal with an obstacle you might not have expected when learning to play an instrument?
    Old sig, tired of it.

the unforeseen troubles Ive had are just strings breaking and the piano going out of tune.

I don't "play" any instruments per se. I have a korg kaoss pad, some pickup mics, an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, two violas, and a keyboard though. Also a bunch of music-making software which could be considered as "instruments" I guess.

I make noise music, so I don't really need to know how to play them, so it's all good.

Unfortunately, I don't really play any musical instruments.
I wish I could play the piano, as it's so beautiful. *-*
I can only play it a little bit, never took lessons and so on...
My family wasn't that... active making their children learn something like music, sports...
So I can't do anything that I haven't learned by myself.
    And that's not enough. xD

I've been playing the piano/keyboard since I was very young. Mom tried sending me to lessons, but I kept losing my books and now I hardly remember anything from way back then about reading music. I play by ear.

    Anyone play the bagpipes? >_>

Well bad karma has struck me as I've started back up with playing guitar. I've got a blister on both my pointer and middle fingers. They're deep under the skin so they not going to get better anytime soon. On the plus side they should calluse up by next month and it wont be painful to play for long periods of time.

I would like to say that I am musically inclined. I remember as a child being enrolled into a lot of musical classes that just geared me toward liking them. The first instrument I learned was the piano and though I practically had a long time with it, it did not flourish into something bigger probably because I was not that inclined to it.

Guitar and the violin is what I am making quite good on, currently.

So many musically inclined people hanging around the boards

I posted before, but I just want to say that I played in a jazz band last year. I miss it :<

I was in a choir at my old school. We sang excerpts of the Messiah by Handel. Good times.

It's a pretty cool image, if I do say so myself. I'll leave it up, though this story may never be finished!

I play guitar, keys, tried to play violin, I can also scream my head off or sing a little bit with an acoustic guitar in my hands.
