Thread: The Video Game Journal Thread!

    The Video Game Journal Thread!

I'm sure we all play a LOT of video games. I noticed there wasn't a thread like this and I always like to hear about peoples progress in video games so...a game journal thread! Basically we just post when we accomplish/make progress stuff in games. Of course, if you're posting any spoilers be sure to mark them and feel free to comment on other people's progress!

If this sort of thing isn't allowed or frowned upon just let me know and it'll never happen again

To start things off: I finally beat Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3 on monday. It was a really fun game but it seems a lot of people hated it, which is a shame. The last string of battles in the dungeon got really challenging! I might try to platinum it later.

I started up Breath of Fire 2 yesterday. I'm playing the GBA version on a gameboy player hooked up to a gamecube..phew! Haha, this is the first time I've played BoF 2 so I'm really excited. Right now I have to clear Bow's name thanks to some mysterious girl thief with wings...hmmm who could that be

    Great thread idea

I'm playing the new patch of BOF2 so I can update on here as well.

Thanks! It'll be fun to see what everyone else is keeping themselves busy with.

New patch? Translation patch? Haha, pardon my curiosity.

Well, as for my gaming updates...

Since the playstation store is back online I finally got to purchase Legend of Mana, a game I always wanted to play. I tried it out for a few minutes and the game is absolutely beautiful! I'll have to make some time for it but for now I have to add it to my backlog.

Other than that, I finished my last college class I'll ever have to take. Not really gaming related but now I can play more and write less research papers. XD Oh! And my roommate is just about to beat Breath of Fire III for the first time. He always got stuck in the desert as a kid but he managed to get through this time.

Now I think it's time to continue BoF II. I've got a black winged thief to find.

    Sure, why not?

Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection on PSP. I'm actually finding it more fun than I remember FF4 being, so it was definitely worth the buy. I haven't started playing the sequel content yet though. Right now I'm on the final bonus dungeon of FF4, it's pretty fun! Boy do you level fast in there.

@Lio: Oh wow, I forgot that game was coming out! How is it? I really enjoyed the remake they put on the DS but this one looks like it has it's own special charm (and the sequel!)

My girlfriend's brother finished LA Noire which means I'm borrowing it now, heh heh. It's a lot of fun, definitely one of the best games I've played in a while. I also just received Breath of Fire 1 and 4 in the mail so I've started BoF. I plan to play them all the way through I-V. Other than that...I've been playing the occasional match of Super Street Fighter AE online

It's is a great game if you like the classic FF4 experience. Even though I already own the PS1 version, I thought it was worth getting. It's not really a true remake (like the DS version is), more like a graphical update of the original with some bonus content. Though I haven't played the DS remake so I can't really make a comparison. But if you're nostalgic for classic Final Fantasy it's definitely worth it!

As for the sequel, I haven't finished it yet but from what I've played so far it seems likely to be at least as long as the original game. It's a direct continuation of the original and features the same characters as well as new ones. So there are many, many nods to the original story, this isn't one of those "1000 years later" sequels.

Well, I was working on an obscure DS rpg called The Glory of Heracles. As you can tell, I'm a huge Greek mythology buff, so this game holds a candle in my heart. ^_^ Not to mention whoever translated the script did a really, really good job! I don't know how much was introduced in the localization, but there's a lot of really fun lines in this game. I'm about thirty hours in, I think I just destroyed the fourth Taphoi...but then when I found Leucos and ยป Spoilers Show/Hide
Heracles again, I got to find the real Heracles, his brother, and I watched one of my party members dissolve into ether. Gah! -_-; Great. I think the real Heracles is supposed to join your party eventually, and I should hope, because I'm a man short now.

It's a pretty light-hearted adventure overall, but so many of the mysteries of the game are still unsolved. Hmm...

It's a pretty cool image, if I do say so myself. I'll leave it up, though this story may never be finished!
