I guess i'm the local comics fan here. And i read mostly DC.
If I may, i really suggest you read Animal Man/Swamp Thing. It's a horror comic, and it's awesome.
If you're into more standard superheroics: Action Comics, Batman, Batman and Robin or Wonder woman, from the DC reboot. They have been excellent.
On the Marvel side, i've been seeing a lot of praise for Journey Into Mystery and Fantastic Four/Future Foundation
