BoF6, eh? Thats an exciting prospect. I'm just not sure where they could take the series.

...YES!!!

Thank goodness for that. I was really starting to wonder if Capcom was going to abandon BOF. I have to spread the news!

I hope they do make a new one and, as Anfini said, it would most likely be on a system that some of us don't have, or it could come to certain countries but countries like the UK won't get it, that's my bet.

Since we had the first five, I don't see why they wouldn't release the game in the UK.

I know what you mean about it coming out on a system we don't have though, they're sure to release it on PS3 or something else like that. :/

hmm... it sounds good that bof is only resting, but you have to thing about Hironobu Takeshita! He have only made the dragon quarter game but it wasn't that good. bof 1-4 ware from a other game-designer.

i'm really happy that there will be a new bof but i really hope it will be better than the 5th one and more like the classical bof (1-4)

This is exciting news, but like others, I don't own the console it will likely come out on. Also, I probably won't get to play it until a few years after it comes out.

Glad to hear it,afterall BOF is one of my favourite game series..

But I don't really sure if it'll be released in America, just try to look at DQ.

I don't like how most fans cry that it's the end of the world that BOF5 was not everyone's cup of tea. It does not mean that they will not release another one here. Breath of fire wasn't a popular series in America to begin with, so if anything, that would be their reasoning.

Then again, it's their only RPG series, honestly. So why wouldn't they?

well atleast it's "resting" and not "dead".
heck, maybe the "resting" could play a good part in the new story when it comes. perhaps the dragon clan could be reincarnated as a clan that put a spell on themselves to rest in order to save the world from an omen in the future..... no? crackpot ideas.

anyway, i'm happy to hear this. whether or not the same art director will return, I'm prepared for it.... when it comes.

takeshita-san said something about a manga in japan.... i'm hoping he isnt talking about the old one about the first breath of fire. anyone know anything?

There is one Breath of Fire fan game that I know of however.
I'm not sure how far along it is, but it is being made with RPG Maker:
Breath of Fire Fan game

It doesn't offer a ton of info about it so I assume it isn't all that far along yet. However, I wonder if it will come out before a BoF 6 does.

He doesn't say "New BoF game" as much as he says "New RPG from Capcom" in the interview, but I'm hoping that they'll make an effort to give us another new title and revive the series.

And, for the love of god, no more experimental battle systems. Stick to a traditional RPG and give Ryu back his ability to transform into dragons.

It looks uninspired and not at all related to BoF. Ryu is a girl and they didn't even put any of the other races in the game, wtf?
