Urgh, I wish I had the talent/experience/training that would have allowed me to pull off this concept. Instead, you get an extremely busy work that feels rather... slapped together.
As for some general notes, I drew (from scratch -- with a mouse -- on MSPaint) everything you see, other than 1) the cloudy sunset behind the tower (which I stole from a Muramasa screenshot), 2) The texture for "Fire" (which is ripped from the same cloudy sunset), and 3) the text for "Second Wings" (I used the text tool rather than drawing it from scratch -- though the other text WAS drawn from scratch).
From the beginning (meaning, when I first started drawing the Nina sprites), the dream behind this project was a resurrection of the BoF series through an Action/RPG spinoff starring Nina. Think Odin Sphere graphics and Metroidvania gameplay with a heavy emphasis on side-scrolling shooter segments. She can shift between two souls (or classes): Fencer (Nina 1 design) and Magician (Nina 2 design). Equipable items are known as relics, and they have various effects including altering magic (shot pattern, attack power, etc.), augmenting melee attacks, and summoning familiars. Common collectibles include Zenny and Rune Fragments; the latter are used to unlock the "memories" (or abilities) of the relics she is equipped with.
Hmm... In case I lost you, I'm driveling on and on about a game concept that I have had on my mind for quite a while. I'll be quiet now.
